Why Missionaries to America?

KidTrek was originally started in April, 2001 through a deep passion and conviction kids needed more than just a passive drop in center to make a difference in their lives. Originally, the mission was to equip churches, and para-churches, how to run their own ministry to at-risk kids, using an after school program.

Through this training we would equip these ministries with all the essential tools needed to “walk with kids through life,” including the creation of what we call a Life Plan for each child. But as it turned out this was a bit too intense for volunteers to accomplish.

For that reason KidTrek has created a new mission,

KidTrek equips Christian ministries to walk with at-risk kids through life, seeing them become Christ-changed, hope-filled, productive adults.

    Through this Mission we will continue to train our “Associate” Ministries, but are now committed to hiring, training and sending missionaries into cities all across America in partnership with the local church.

These missionaries will make a commitment to a small group of kids (1 adult:5 kids), and their families, in an intentional,  long term manner. They will also prepare the church congregation where they are stationed to walk with kids through life using a weekly outreach night to kids in the community.
